Gilded Baroque High Altar

The gilded Baroque high altar sits beneath a painted domed ceiling inside a church. Warm gold and white stucco contrast with darker brown and gray frescoes, and daylight from tall arched windows on the right lights the central sculpted sunburst and marble columns. A cluster of twisting Solomonic columns and the forward-leaning gilded sunburst give the upward view a slightly vertiginous push.
