Marble Bust of Bearded Saint

A marble bust of a bearded saint sits in a carved marble niche. A narrow shaft from the left brightens the statue's face and upper torso against dark, veined marble and a gilded Corinthian capital above. The carved buttons on the robe and the deeply incised beard are sharply defined, and worn gold leaf is visible on the capital.
